No. We only require for the lyrics to have at least 50% dialect use. You may include a mixture of other languages such as Mandarin, English, or even multiple dialects.
The theme of this competition is Chinese New Year songs. Preserving culture and promoting intergenerational communication are among our key objectives. We hope participants will create Chinese New Year songs that are unique to our Singapore culture, in creative ways. You are free to interpret what is considered "Chinese New Year" to you.

Yes, the singer/performing artist does not have to be the songwriter or composer.
No. Your Song submission must include vocals. It can be performed by you, a friend, a cappella or with a band. A demo of the work must be submitted.
Yes, you may join the songwriting competition without producing an MV. If you send in a Music Video, it will be judged under the “Best MV” category.
Yes, that is allowed. You are free to interpret how the song and visuals are combined.
